Red drum bite has improved since August has begun, with the last week having temperatures really ideal for fishing, light winds made for a great ride on the Cape Fear River.I have some open dates for this upcoming week I expect fishing to really start to turn on with the shorter day light hours, starting to see alot of bait activity along the grass lines.

Cape Fear Guide red drum fishing is an experience that is becoming really popular with families an anglers these live bait charters are mainly run in the creeks next to Bald Head Island & Buzzard Bay.The bite seems to be improving this week with some of the red drum measuring over the slot limit of 18″ to 27″. Most of the charters just can’t wait to come back next year, children seem to really enjoy the time spent catching the live bait, for I let them get involved in putting the bait in the live well, keeping them happy makes for a successful charter. These photos really show why Capt.Mike has been so busy this season, his is putting his clients on the fish!
