The 2010 fishing season should be a busy one for me this year, I am expecting,quite a few return customers from last year & I know my customers have put the word out this Capt. can put you on the red drum bite.

I had quite few calls last season for a larger or offshore boat,so if you are interested in fishing offshore this upcoming season I have found a boat that should meet your needs a 40′ Key West with twin diesels at 900 h.p. she will be fast and comfortable.

Offshore fishing cost are directly tied to the cost of diesel fuel which has become higher than gasoline.
Big boats burn a conciderable amount fuel running to the 30 - 60 range .

Park Wildife biologist report the elk herd to be around 110 animals.

Cape Fear Fishing - November

Fishing has been good this week temperatures have fallen some,fish are biting in the creeks in the lower Cape Fear River.Red drum bite yesterday was hot,with Lot’s of small reds with a number of 22′ to 24” fish caught.
Near shore fishing along the surf is picking up,November is one of the best fishing months for surf fishing here in Carolina Beach,N.C. Virginia mullet,blue fish,red drum are all being caught right in the surf,the North end of Carolina Beach is a real popular spot for the surf fisherman in North Carolina.

Speckle Trout Carolina Beach

Cape Fear Guide is reporting the speckle trout bite is turning on,along with the gray trout which are biting at the artificial reef right off from the Marriott Hotel.
Speckle trout are hitting jigs and live bait, gray trout are hitting shrimp,live bait,shiny jigs,bouncing off the bottom.

NC Fall Red Drum Fishing

This was a great fall day to be on the water,weather was perfect and the fish were biting before the bait could even sink to the bottom. Red drum were biting well for the Cape Fear Guide today,every spot seemed to be holding the red fish today.
Danny Redman from Charlotte was also catching his share of red fish today for the action was consistant on just about every spot that was fished today,

Carolina Beach,N.C.is a great place to live,for with the arrival of cooler fall temperatures,spurs the annual migrations and schooling of bait,finger mullets,this is what draws the king mackerel,close to our beaches,along with large flounders,that are being caught on our inshore artificial reefs.
I fished yesterday under Carolina blue skies,virtually no wind,just a perfect day to be out on the water,found a few large flounders biting,along with the grey trout.
This is the time of year you can just see the ocean, come alive with fish,from Spanish mackerel attacking mullet minnows on the surface,to king mackerel sky rocketing out of the water,now is the time to go fishing,and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Cape Fear Guide - Carolina Beach NC - Red Drum

I took Billy Neely of Carolina Beach,NC yesterday afternoon,for some late afternoon red drum fishing.This red drum bent the rod making a 100′ run down the bank before,it came to the surface,then the fish went to the bank trying to get up into the grass, really a hard fighting fish.
Thats’s why I am hooked on Red Drum fishing !

Speckle Trout Started to Bite

Today is Tuesday 25,2009 speckle trout are biting for the Cape Fear Guide,the last three charters Capt.Mike has located these trout,they are not on fire yet,but it won’t be long before you will be able to catch your limit of these tasty fish. Red fish are still biting,best bite has been at low tide,but fish are being caught through out the tide just have to really move around to find them.

Speckle Trout & Red Drum

The last couple of days of Red Drum fishing was just as I predicted it would be hot ! I fished Monday & Tuesday of this week ,bringing home the legal slot limit of reds and releasing about 5 - 10 red drum a day,for my charters,several of the red drum were in the 30 ” to 33″ size really hard fighting fish.
