Cape Fear Spring Fishing 2013

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

Cape Fear spring fishing season has started, weather yesterday was ideal, calm conditions made for a really nice ride south to Bald head Island. The water temperatures are below normal for this time of year, should be warming up fast with this weeks higher than normal air temperatures, spring weather is here to stay ! The Cape Fear river was alive with activity yesterday the shrimp boats were dragging their nets, crab boats were working traps, birds were diving on the first schools of menhaden all the signs that indicated the arrival of the spring fishing season.

I fished for whiting yesterday, action was steady most of the morning ,moved around a few times to insure we kept fish coming in the boat, the charter on board was local,Capital Ford from Wilmington, everyone really enjoyed the day on the Cape Fear River.

Weather is ideal for the next couple of days, just give me a call at 910-619-0928 for more information on whats biting in the Cape Fear River.
