Post Hurricane Sandy

Monday, October 29th, 2012

Hurricane Sandy stayed off the Cape Regions Fear Regions coast winds were no greater 45 miles per hour, but were blowing steady at 20 to 30 miles per hour for about three days,I expect winds to continue to be around 20 mph for a couple of more days as the storm pulls further to the north.Fishing prior to the arrival of Sandy, seemed to be improving with the arrival of the speckle trout at Carolina Beach Inlet, lot’s of small red drum in the back bays with an occasional slot size red drum being landed, along with a few flounders.

Its Monday October 29 with winds still blowing around 20 mph, along with temperatures dipping down to 43 degrees with a high today of 61 degrees,I expect the trout bite to pick up just as soon as the water has time to clear up.Red drum bite should improve also with the falling water temperatures.I am supposed to fish Tuesday if the wind will lay down enough to make a run up to Bald Head Island.

North Carolina Fall Fishing

Tuesday, October 9th, 2012

North Carolina fall fishing is here in the Cape Fear Region of North Carolina, water and air temperatures have startedĀ  dropping some creating a really great time to be on the water. This past week my charters caught red drum, and flounder, a few small speckle trout, along with some of the largest Spanish mackerel I seen in years. This is the time of year, every fisherman is waiting for, bait is plentiful, some of the largest fish will be caught in the up coming weeks a good example of this is my last charter, slow trolling live menhaden onĀ  one of our inshore reefs we landed a bull red drum, along with a few 8lb. Spanish mackerel.

I am booked October 13th Saturday,,Monday 15th,& Tuesday 16th after these dates I am available to fish,so if you are sitting in your office looking out the window at these Carolina blue skies, you are missing a great time to be out fishing!

Fall Fishing is something !
