Carolina Beach July 4,2012 Weekend

Friday, June 29th, 2012

Carolina Beach on July 4th is all about having fun, seafood, fishing, drinking, spending time on the beach just plain having a good ole time ! Let’s all take time to remember Independence Day which is known as the Fourth of July commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, declaring our independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Fireworks will be held at Carolina Beach on Tuesday July 3,2012,on the boardwalk come on out and enjoy the celebration.

The red drum fishing has been off,you really have to work hard to find a drum, flounder have been a little more plentiful, spanish mackerel, are biting good,on the days you can get out to them for the wind has been blowing hard for several days.I write a honest fishing report, not some exaggerated account,I believe in being honest ! Going fishing tomorrow going to try for some black drum have a feeling, they will bite ! I do have a few openings left for this week, give me a call at 910-619-0928 lets get out and enjoy this holiday week ! Capt.Mike Dennis

Carolina Beach Spanish mackerel bite was good this morning, catching my limit of 10 fish in about 30 minutes.Trolling with 00 clark spoons using  #1 planers with 30′ of 30 lb.test leader is highly  successful.Speed of the boat is critical, six

knots. worked well this morning seas were flat calm. Trolling for Spanish mackerel is still fun for me and I am almost 60 years old,it takes a good smooth steady retrieve in order to bring the fish to the boat. These fish make a great fish fry,can be bake or broiled or make some fish tacos.

My favorite recipe is take fillets deep in an egg & milk batter  roll fish in House Autry Seafood Breader, and FRY !
