Spring fishing has started
The 2011 spring fishing season has started  the inshore temperatures are fast approaching the 65 degree temperature mark. I fished Friday 15Th started our in 20′ of water just off from Bald Head Island found the Virginia mullet to be biting slow but managed to catch a few.Moved around to a few different spots, the tide was falling fishing did not seem to be improving, tide was to low to move into the backwaters so I decided to go back to Carolina Beach Inlet tide was just starting to rise, caught a couple, of good size Virginia mullet, bluefish, black drum.Spring time fishing has started but will continue to improve as the water temperatures keep climbing, have not seen any signs of menhaden or finger mullet yet, hoping they will start to show in the next couple of weeks. It has been a long cold winter here in Cape Fear Region of North Carolina but spring time is here so let’s get out on the water and enjoy the great outdoors.
