Cape Fear Guide Spring Fishing
I fished yesterday April 8th on my first charter of the 2009 season, weather was quite cool, and windy with water temperatures still showing 58 degrees on my temperature gauge.Fishing was slow with no bites for the first part of the morning. I moved to one of my favorite spots, just before noon, and the bite was on catching black drum, with several double hook ups ! Lot’s of fun for the first time young anglers from Virginia, the black drum were hitting shrimp fished on the bottom.
Rods used were 6′ 6″ Key Largo light action tip with Shimano Spheros 3000FA reels great combination for light tackle action!

Thanks Capt. Mike! By 9:00 P.M. all of these Black Drum were cleaned, grilled and eaten. Thanks again for a great (but chilly) trip!
