Bald Head Island Fishing Charters

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

I saw Spanish Mackerel jumping out of the water, so I  anchored up in between Bald Head Island and Oak Island  yesterday afternoon found the Spanish Mackerel biting  gotcha plugs steady for about an hour. These fish make for exciting action on light spinning rods, giving the angler several good fast runs, before coming to the boat. Another fun afternoon of fishing with the Cape Fear GuideCapt.Mike Dennis

Southport Fishing Charters

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Flounder fishing is beginning to heat up at the artifical reefs off of Southport,N.C. AR- 420 Tom McGlammmery Reef and the AR-425 Yaupon Beach Reef are both producing flounders. Small peanut menhaden on a Carolina rig seem  to be the best combination for successful trip. Flounders are also being caught along the inter-coastal waterway system in the Southport area fish the bulk heads, and around the bridges for the most consistent action.
